Styled Adventure Elopement

As an artist, there are times I find myself in a creative rut. Ever since COVID-19 came into our lives and forced many of my couples to postpone their weddings, 2020 has been one of those years when I need some extra creativity.

When I stumbled upon this styled shoot organized by The Vow Creative, I felt inspired. After months of quarantine and isolation I signed up and couldn’t wait to get out into nature with a group of creatives. Styled shoots have always been a great way to slow down, take a deep breath, and refine my craft. I took the opportunity to rent a new lens and take the time to practice some new techniques.

Our small group met one summer afternoon in Colorado Springs at the Garden of the Gods. It was HOT. I had never been to the park before and I was pleasantly surprised at it’s beauty! Our leaders Kayla of Devoted and Wild and Kenzie of Fable Style and Design led us up a trail to a “secret spot” on the mountain. It DID NOT disappoint. I spent most of the afternoon in awe of this little piece of heaven. Our models Marisa and Jake walked barefoot across the red rocks and soil as we captured every moment. The sky began to glow as the sun set behind the mountains and a “finale moment” happened before us. It was magical. This shoot left my heart full and it felt like the shot of creative adrenaline I had needed so badly. Thank you so much to all the vendors that participated!
