Boulder Engagement

Andrea is a good friend and co-worker from the architecture world and her fiance Dave and their dog Jojo just make them the cutest little family in the universe. When Andrea asked me to shoot her engagement photos I jumped at the opportunity!

We met up in their old Boulder neighborhood and they shared with me a secret hike that would save us from the crowds at nearby Chautauqua Park. It was one of those perfect days, just a dreamy, hot summer afternoon with everything in bloom. Andrea mentioned her and Dave’s love for IPA’s so, I surprised them with a couple cold ones to calm the nerves. We played in the meadow for a while, changing outfits and giving their dog Jojo some moments in the spotlight. But it was all fun and games until I accidentally knelt down into a CACTUS! Ouch. So, with the show must go on mindset I decided to shove a sock down my pant leg and carry on the shoot! With a prickle and poke every now and then.

We made our way down the hill into a meadow of wildflowers to end the shoot. The sun was beginning to set with those golden beams of light and it was absolute magic. This was the first shoot I had been able to do since quarantine and everything else that’s been happening in 2020, so it felt extra special to spend the afternoon with good friends, the sunset, and a pooch.
