Loveland Pass Couples Session
Emily and I go way back. Back to the days when I was 22, I had just graduated from architecture school and it was the very end of the recession. No architecture firms were hiring recent grads so, in the meantime I got a job at a jewelry store at the mall. Emily and I worked there together. We would both agree it was the worst job we ever had! It’s funny to laugh about nowadays and we’ve since kept in touch.
Recently, Emily reached out to me about a couples session with her boyfriend on Loveland Pass. Loveland ski resort holds a special place in their hearts and after a tough couple of years they wanted to celebrate each other. I LOVED the idea! I usually shoot couples that are engaged but it was so much fun to shoot a couple that just wanted spend the afternoon in front of my lens JUST BECAUSE!
It was a chilly day in February and the pass was busy with backcountry skiers and tourists. It was windy and cloudy but we made the best of it. Fun fact: cloudy days are actually great days for photos, the light is more even and it makes for truer skin tones and doesn’t cast any shadows on your face!
We played on the summit for a while, Sam and Emily even brought along their little pup Lupo! Dogs are always welcome on shoots, in fact they usually steal the show! We spent the afternoon popping around different areas along the pass then finished up with some pictures of the couple and their fancy Jeep. I’m a Jeep girl too, must be a CO local thing :). But I enjoyed every minute of this shoot with Emily and Sam and was so excited that I could capture them enjoying the moment together. Love you guys!
