Crested Butte Elopement

Lauren and Tim are good friends of mine, you may recognize them (and their precious dog Ruby) from their engagement shoot I blogged last winter. Lauren aka “Coop” planned their October wedding at a venue in Monument but when COVID-19 entered the world, things changed. Coop and Tim decided to postpone their wedding to 2021 (like so many other brides) and have a more intimate celebration in Crested Butte with only close family and friends on their original date.

First of all, this day was perfect. I know I say that a lot, but seriously. It was the beginning of October, the fall leaves were in full swing and the weather was warm with a slight breeze. Coop and Tim rented a duplex just outside of town for all of their close friends and family to stay and celebrate after the ceremony. Coop wore a beautiful gown with a simple silhouette and bow tied in the back and a shawl made by a dear family friend, while Tim wore a dapper black suit and socks with “Property of Mrs. Meyer” written on the toes.

Before leaving the house, Coop did a first look with her dad and gave him a gift to hold close to his heart for this special day. Happy tears came to anyone in the vicinity…including me! Next, we were off to the location for Coop & Tim’s first look and their ceremony.

Coop and Tim’s first look was one of my favorites to date. I know they are my friends and all so, I may be biased…but Coop and I discussed this moment in detail before the wedding day giving me a vision of how to bring it to life. We picked a beautiful spot which looked out to a grove of yellow aspen trees in the mountains beyond, and placed Coop and Tim next to each other with their eyes closed. Then, they held hands before opening their eyes! Tim’s reaction to how STUNNING Coop looked that day was so special…another moment needing a tissue!

Their friends and family gathered close by for the ceremony as Coop’s Dad walked her down the aisle surrounded by nature…literally! Just as the ceremony began a beam of sunlight peeked out from behind the clouds and the two stood there GLOWING as they read their vows to one another with their close friend Holly to officiate. After the ceremony (and a few more tears) the couple went one by one to everyone to embrace and thank them for being there to witness such a beautiful day in their lives.

While everyone headed back to the airbnb, Coop, Tim, and I spent an hour or so capturing the BEST portraits. Simply put…Beautiful place, with beautiful people. It was the best. The group and their dog of honor Ruby, spent the rest of the night celebrating with a first dance in the back yard, followed by some local delicious pizza from The Secret Stash and dancing on the indoor/outdoor patio!

Congratulations again Coop and Tim! Love you guys so much!
