Steamboat Springs Elopement
Hanna & Nick are from San Diego, CA and decided to elope in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. They decided to spend the week at the Vista Verde Ranch for their love of the outdoors & horseback riding adventures while still enjoying a lodge resort-style accommodation.
They spend the week getting to know their horses and enjoying everything the ranch had to offer from delicious food, friendly staff, and a close-knit community of other guests.
Leading up to the elopement, Hanna and I were texting back and forth with concerns about the weather coming in that same week. A heavy thunderstorm was making its way down from the north and our sunrise elopement plans were starting to look a bit cold and muddy. Luckily, elopements are much more flexible than traditional wedding days and so we decided to move the elopement up to the day before to enjoy sunny skies and warmer temperatures.
I arrived early that afternoon and captured every detail Hanna worked so hard to pull together. Hanna has a knack for florals and made some last minute adjustments to Nick’s boutonniere and it was just one of the many small details that made the day so special. After a quick first look outside their cabin we were off to an spot overlooking the ranch. We set up a beautiful Pendleton blanket to stand on for Hanna and Nick to exchange private vows and then they popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate and make it official on the marriage license. I always love when I get to sign as a witness! Best day ever.
We spent the rest of the afternoon taking in the scenery, capturing portraits across the landscape and then enjoying dinner together back at the lodge.
Congratulations Hanna & Nick! I enjoyed every minute with you guys and I wish you both all the best!
