Sunset Proposal in Steamboat

Matt reached out to me about a month or so before his trip to Steamboat with his girlfriend Morgan. He was so calm over the phone and I was so excited when he asked me to capture his proposal. He put all of his trust in me and I came up with the timing, the location, and he was all for it! Morgan’s sister was in on the secret and was my go-to contact the week of the shoot so Morgan wouldn’t get suspicious! The day before the shoot I scoped out the spot and gave Morgan’s sister directions and we were good to go!

The day of the shoot I arrived to the location about an hour early to block off the spot from other tourists. I had never met Matt or Morgan before, so I just pretended to be another tourist (with a fancy camera) enjoying the view of an amazing frozen waterfall in the distance.

When Matt and Morgan arrived to the spot seconds later he was down on one knee! (It was so fast I seriously almost missed it!) But it was amazing and best of all…SHE SAID YES! Morgan’s sister, brother-in-law, and father were there with champagne to celebrate! They popped a bottle and enjoyed the amazing views as the sun went down. Congratulations Matt and Morgan! Cheers!
