Jenny Smiley

(Yep, that’s my real last name)

I’m an architect turned photographer born and raised in Colorado and I’m obsessed with capturing couples, weddings, and elopements in my own backyard or around the world.

I may not be the type of Colorado native born on a fourteener with Coors Light in my veins…but I do enjoy spending most of my time outside in the mountains. I love to ski in the winter and hike to the nearest waterfall in the summer. I keep my inflatable SUP and hammock in the trunk of my car nine months out of the year and love a good summer drive listening to music at sunset.

With all of that said, I’m not just your ordinary wedding photographer. If you want your hair, makeup, and moments in front of the camera to be absolutely perfect then I urge you to look elsewhere. I love working with easy going couples, ready for adventure. I love a bride that doesn’t mind her hair blowing in the wind or her dress getting a little dirty. I’m super hands on and direct couples in a way that’s flattering and natural like we’re old friends catching up. I promise to capture the moments that you will hang on your walls and pass down for generations, but I’ll also promise that you will enjoy our time together and walk away feeling amazing and excited.

This is a special time in your life, so at the end of the day I want you to enjoy the moment, be yourselves, and I’ll be there to capture it.

WHAT TO EXPECT

ENJOY:

If there’s anything I want you to take away from our experience together, it’s to enjoy yourself. For couples, I want you to take in this moment and enjoy the process. Wedding planning can be stressful, but at the end of the day it’s the celebration of the two of you joining your lives together forever. From the engagement session to the wedding day, I want to be by your side as the fun third wheel to capture it all! I want to highlight you both as a couple and for that true love to shine through in each photo. I guarantee we will have a good time!

ADVICE:

More than likely, this is your first time planning a wedding. As someone who has attended tons of weddings I’m here to help. I’m also here to guide you with what to do/what not to do and how to make this experience as stress-free as possible! After booking, I send my clients a wedding guide to help walk you through the wedding day and bring up specific things to think about as you plan. At the end of the day, this is your wedding and you and you partner get to decide on the final result, but I like to provide some guidance in case of anything you didn’t think of!

VALUE:

Photography is the only thing that lasts after your wedding day. Your wedding photos are the photos that you will frame and put on the walls, they are the keepsakes you will pass down for generations to come. After months of planning, you will want to remember how it all came together in the end. I do believe it’s possible to save money when planning your wedding day but photography is not the place to fall short. A good photographer is worth every penny. If you fall in love with a photographer’s style and personality that’s when you know they are a good fit. The right photographer will be an asset on the big day as well as the days leading up to it.
